Count the costs

Read the whole bill

Keep the care fee, medicine price, and other charges on the same page.

A membership may cover only the care

Among a small sample of nationwide online weight-care offers, monthly fees covered care while medicine carried a separate charge. These were advertised offers, not a survey of the whole market.

Ask for the care fee and medicine charge separately. Ask about tests, shipping, review visits, and any fee that continues while no medicine is being sent.

Get the ordinary ongoing price beside the introductory offer. Ask what a longer commitment changes about payment and cancellation.

The medicine price depends on how you pay

Before discounts, the price published by a medicine’s maker is called its list price. That figure is no price quote for your personal bill. A maker's cash offer gives a price for paying without using insurance. A discount card can offer another price. A copay is the amount you pay when insurance helps with the bill. These are different ways to pay for the same medicine.

On September 26, 2026, most advertised cash offers from drug makers fell between about $149 and $499 each month. The product, its strength, the starter offer, and when the next supply was ordered changed the price. Strength describes how much medicine a product contains. Some offers charged more if the next supply was ordered late.

Those medicine figures are not an all-in price for an online care program. Ask for a written total using the actual product under discussion.

The government cash-price directory lists offers but does not dispense medicine. Dispense means hand over the medicine.

Check what the offer promises later

December 31, 2026, marks the end of many cash offers and savings-card terms. That end date calls for checking new terms, not assuming a future price.

Before paying, ask when charges renew, how to cancel, what refunds cover, and whether a longer plan is paid up front. Save the answers with the quote.

If you plan to pay with insurance, name the exact medicine and the reason for treatment when you ask the plan about coverage. An advertised cash price is a different question from your own covered cost.

The medicine price range comes from advertised drug-maker offers. The care fees come from a small sample of advertised service offers. Neither tells us what patients actually paid.
